Bjarte Engeset (Conductor)

Conductor Bjarte Engeset will perform a Scandinavian program (Tveitt,Grieg and Sibelius) with the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra at their subscription concert in Moscow International Music Center on February 12. Maestro Engeset has previously successfully conducted major Russian orchestras like St.Petersburg Philharmonic and Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, the latter at the Austrian Woerthersee Festival.

Geir Draugsvoll (classic accordeon) world premiered new work by Sofia Gubaidulina (78) dedicated to him.

Sofia Gubaidulinas newest work, "Fachwerk" (Frame-work), a concert for classic accordeon (Bajan) and string orchestra with percussion, dedicated to the outstanding Norwegian accordeonist Geir Draugsvoll, received its world premiere performances at the Bijloke (Gent) and Concertgebouw (Amsterdam 13 & 14 November 2009, the composer attending. Mr. Draugsvoll, joined by Amsterdam Sinfonietta and Anders Loguin (percussion) and the composer received standing ovations and bravos from the well filled Concertgebouw Great Hall for another 
masterwork by Gubaidulina. Presenters (orchestras or festivals) planning to celebrate Gubaidulinas 80th 
Anniversary in 2011 and would like to perform "Fachwerk", please contact Pro Arte for more info. The TrondheimSoloists ( www.trondheimsolistene.no) and Amsterdam Sinfonietta, www.amsterdamsinfonietta.nl 
and Geir Draugsvoll (who has exclusivity on "Fachwerk") are planning to include it during their upcoming 
international touring seasons.

AUDUN SANDVIK - CELLO

We are proud to announce the inclusion of  cellist Audun Sandvik (link) to Pro Arte International Management´s roster of outstanding Norwegian artists.

CV (preliminary)
Since Cellist  Audun Sandvik (29) gave his first solo recital  in 1998 he has been predicted to have a brilliant international career. In 2000 he  won the prestigious soloist competition at Indiana University, USA, where he achieved a Performer Diploma under the guidance of legendary teacher and performer Janos Starker. Sandvik got his  Soloist Diploma at the Norwegian State Academy of Music in 2007,and representing the Academy at Kyoto International Music Festival,Japan.  Among  his  teachers was the world-famous cellist Truls Mørk with whom he studied for four years. Audun Sandvik is currently Principal Cellist with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and member of the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. He is particularly active concertizing in Norway and abroad as a soloist and chamber music performer. He  has been  invited to perform in  major festivals in Norway  and abroad and with a number of orchestras. Since 2003 he has performed  with global artists like Leif Ove Andsnes, Kim Kaskashian, Janine Jansen, Julian Rachlin.Lars Anders Tomter  and Arve Tellefsen.Leif Ove Andsnes regularly has invited him to his Risør Chamber Music fest. Sandvik is artistic advisor to  the Music Festival of Sandane in Gloppen,Norway. Stuttgarter Kammerorchester  will  present  Sandvik as their soloist  on a tour of Norway in  2009.  
Audun Sandvik plays an Italian cello made in 1695 by Giorgio Taninger. 
  

Biografi
Audun Sandvik (29) må regnes som en av Skandinavias fremste unge cellister. Han ga sin første solokonsert i 1998 og har siden konsertert aktivt både i inn- og utland.Han har  Performer Diploma fra Indiana University, USA, der han studerte med den legendariske cellisten og pedagogen Janos Starker. Våren 2000 vant Audun Sandvik den prestisjetunge solistkonkurransen ved det samme universitetet.  Han representerte Norges Musikkhøgskole ved Kyoto International Music festival, Japan. 
Våren 2007 avsluttet han Diplomstudiet ved Norges Musikkhøgskole der han har studerte  med professor Truls Mørk, professor Aage Kvalbein og professor Lars Anders Tomter. Våren 2003 var han solist med Bergen Filharmoniske Orkester, og i april 2005 gjestet han  orkesteret pånytt som solist med Saint-Saens cellokonsert. 
Fra høsten 2006 ble han  engasjert som solocellist  i Kringkastingsorkesteret og er også medlem av Det Norske Kammerorkester. Han er særdeles aktiv som solo og kammer-musiker. Blant annet kan nevnes  kammermusikalsk samarbeid med musikere som  Leif Ove Andsnes, Arve Tellefsen, Arvid Engegård, Terje Tønnesen,, Lars Anders Tomter. Janine Jansen, Julian Rachlin 
Audun Sandvik har siden 2003 årlig medvirket ved Risør Kammemusikkfest, og har også vært engasjert ved festivaler som blant annet Oslo kammermusikkfestival, Festspillene  Bergen og Maputo International Music Festival.  Han er drivkraft og kunstnerisk rådgiver for Gloppen Musikkfest som årlig finner sted i Sandane. I 2009 er han solist med Stuttgarter Kammerorchester.
Han spiller på en cello bygget i 1695 av Giorgio Taninger.
