Audun Sandvik is one of Scandinavias most outstanding young cellists who is predicted to have a brilliant international carrier. In 2000 he won the prestigious soloist competition at Indiana University, USA, where he achieved a Performer Diploma under the guidance of legendary teacher and performer Janos Starker. Sandvik got his Soloist Diploma at the Norwegian State Academy of Music in 2007. Among his teachers was the world-famous cellist Truls Mørk with whom he studied for four years. Audun Sandvik is currently Principal Cellist with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and member of the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. He is particularly active as a soloist and chamber music performer, has been invited to perform in major festivals in Norway Lately he has performed together with global artists like Leif Ove Andsnes, Kim Kaskashian, Janine Jansen, Julian Rachlin. Audun Sandvik plays an Italian cello made in 1695 by Giorgio Taninger.|
