Kjell Seim (1955) is one of Norway´s most after-sought conductors for concert,opera,music theatre and ballet:

He studied at the State Academy of Music in Oslo, where he gained his conducting - Diploma in 1982. Further studies includes a number of international master-classes. In 1987 he received the 1.Prize at the Nordic Conducting Competition in Stockholm.

Since 1989 Mr. Seim is Music Director of Norway´s Kristiansund Opera, which has an extensive annual production of operas and ballets.

Kjell Seim is a favorite guest conductor with the philharmonic & symphonic orchestras in Norway,with the Norwegian State Opera and with orchestras throughout Scandinavia. He has also conducted orchestras in Germany. Since 1993  been guest-conducting the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan.

Kjell Seim´s previous music directorships include Sweden´s Jönköping Symphony Orchestra, the Kristiansand Chamber Orchestra, the North Norwegian Chamber Orchestra,the Royal Norwegian Armed Forces Staff Band, and Norwegian Youth Symphony Orchestra. He is now  leading Norways  brilliant «Young Symphony» in concert and tours.

Kjell Seim has an extensive repertory, including all major classical & romantic works, a great number of operas and ballets, and many of the important 20th century works, incl. avantgarde. He has also conducted orchestras in Germany and the Finnish National Ballet.
